Camera Tips
-
Place
a disposable wedding camera on each table at the reception
so that your guests can capture the candid shots that
your professional photographer may miss.
-
Have
your DJ make an announcement about the cameras, encouraging
your guests to use them and reminding them to use the
flash.
-
Encourage
guests to take pictures of people at their table and
other happenings that the wedding couple might miss,
rather than the big events that the photographer will
be covering.
-
For
a buffet-style or casual reception, choose a few trusted
friends to take pictures with the cameras.
-
Buy
extra cameras to give as favors to special children
such as the flower girl and ringbearer. The children
will love having their own cameras to use and you won't
end up paying for unwanted pictures on your other table
cameras.
-
Plan
a "photo scavenger hunt". At each reception
table, have a list of pictures to be taken: group shot,
best dancer, a toast, an engaged couple, youngest guest,
etc. This is an entertaining game for your guests and
provides you with a variety of fun photos.
-
Collect
the wedding cameras before the close of the reception,
to avoid missing or stolen cameras.
-
Cameras
with a few unused shots can be used on your honeymoon
or on gift-opening day.
-
When
you develop the pictures, get doubles. Choose an appropriate
photo to include in each of your guests' thank you notes.
